Oh man, does anyone else feel like somehow January was forever long, but also wondering how it's already February?? Is that just me??
January was kind of a whirlwind, and so I thought I'd do a little recap of the month and review my goals that I had set for myself!!
First off, what we did!!
I went on an AMAZING coaching retreat with a bunch of other leaders on our team! We have these about once a year, and it's seriously SO fun to connect with these women, meet some virtual friends in person, have some awesome trainings and team building activities, and just all around enjoy a good girl's trip!! 25 women and zero drama is basically my kind of girl's trip!!
We apartment hunted! And found a new place!! We make the move pretty soon, but I'm so excited for (1) LOTS more space!! We're currently in ~750 sqft and will be moving into a two bedroom with over 1,100 sqft! (2) A beautiful new kitchen! (3) an exciting new space!! We tend to move A LOT (basically every year, though in 2016 it was multiple times in one year), so I've come to get excited about trying out a new space, organizing it, and making it our own. I might even do a blog post about apartment hunting, and our tips and tricks!! Would you want to see that??
Ok, now to the goals!! I think that'l basically cover the rest of what we did. I'm not going to go into every single goal that I wrote in my 2018 Goals post, but I wanted to touch on the bigger ones!
- Read 4 books. Check! Done! Boom!! It helps that I was finishing up a book as we started January, but considering my other book I was reading is over 1,400 pages long, I'm counting it!! I finished The Entrepreneur Roller Coaster, I am Watching You, Mastering your Mean Girl, and am literally PAGES away (like finishing it tonight!) from completing A Breath of Snow and Ashes (aka Outlander #6)! This last one is a huge accomplishment. I've been working on this series for AGES and while there's still two more books, it feels really good to finish off another one!
- Start and commit to a new workout program. On it!! Mid-month, I started a brand new workout program, 80 Day Obsession, and it's seriously been amazinnggggg!! It focuses on abs and booty, timed nutrition (basically what kinds of food to eat around your workout), and while it's been hard and takes some planning, I've been really enjoying the process!! The food isn't nearly as scary as I thought it would be, plus, I have this great group of women who are doing it with me, which helps keep me on track.
- Complete a "no TV January". I got soooo close!! Basically, it was really easy for the first 25ish days of the month. Bryan and I were both super busy, and when we got the chance to sit at home together, we mostly spent the time apartment hunting. The break came when I was home alone for the weekend, packing up our apartment, and realized JUST how boring packing was with no Netflix!! I ended up watching a few episodes of The Crown while getting the apartment organized. So I made it to the 27th, which I have to say is pretty good!!
- Blog twice per week. Ehhhh... obviously this didn't happen. I think twice a week is a bit ambitious for my busy life right now. I was anticipating having some extra time when I made that goal, so now it's time to readjust! So, I'm going to aim for 3 times a month, and hope that I can build from there!! I want to give you guys good content that's interesting, of value, and thought out, so I don't just want to feel like I HAVE to post because it's a goal. I do, want to be more consistent so that you can start to expect some new stuff on here a few times a month!!
And that wraps up January! For February, my goals are quite similar-- read the same amount, continue with 80 Day Obsession, and get into a consistent blog routine!
What are your goals for February?
